Squash
Near West Recreation Squash is part of our Learn to Play Series, designed to introduce youth to the fundamentals of the game in a fun, clinic-style format. Unlike traditional leagues, there are no formal teams or games—just a great opportunity for kids to try out squash in an affordable, non-competitive setting.
The Learn to Play Squash takes place April or May. Registration opens late February/early March and ends in April.
Squash has been voted the world's healthiest sport by Forbes and will be making its debut at the LA Olympic Games in 2028. In addition, it provides an incredible pathway into some of the leading colleges in the country.
Learn to Play Squash Series:
For: Boys and Girls ages 9-13 (rising 4th -8th graders)
When: Tuesdays, July 21 - August 11 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm
Locations: Urban Squash Cleveland (4701 Lorain Ave).
Equipment: Tennis shoes are required for all participants. Other equipment are provided by Near West Recreation or Urban Squash Cleveland.
Cost: $40 per child. Need-based financial assistance is available.
Those will a strong interest in the sport, will have the opportunity to tryout for the after-school program starting in September.
