Scorekeepers/Clock Managers
We are always looking for scorekeepers/clock managers for our baseball (summer), softball (summer), soccer (fall), volleyball (fall), basketball (winter), lacrosse (spring) leagues. Pay rate is dependent on league, age division, and experience level. We like to hire teenagers (15+) for these positions, especially ones that have played in Near West Recreation. Game Day Coordinator (Part-Time)
The Gameday Coordinator plays a key role in making NWR leagues run smoothly and creating a fun, welcoming experience for players, coaches, and families. This is a great opportunity for college students or recent graduates interested in sports management, recreation, education, or youth development who want hands-on experience running community sports programs.
You’ll work closely with the Youth Sports Manager to coordinate game operations, support volunteers and officials, and make sure every game day feels organized and exciting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare game fields and courts before competitions
- Support and communicate with coaches, referees, umpires, and scorekeepers
- Step in to assist as a referee or scorekeeper when needed
- Maintain clean and organized facilities before and after events
- Transport and set up equipment using an NWR vehicle
- Help coordinate and support community events such as Opening Day, Family Movie Nights, fundraisers, and celebrations
- Assist with daily operations, preseason planning, and other assigned projects
- Opportunity to design and lead their own recreation program/activity
What We’re Looking For
- Experience participating in or helping run organized sports or recreation programs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Reliable, organized, and able to stay calm under pressure
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and community engagement
- Experience working or volunteering at community, church or school events.
- Comfortable working most Saturdays (Feb–Mar, Jun–Jul, Sept–Oct) and weeknights year-round (typically 2 nights per week from 5:30–9:00 PM)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must pass a background check
- High school diploma required; college student or recent graduate preferred

Compensation & Schedule
- Part-time: 5–15 hours/week (max 50 hours/month)
- Pay: $15/hour with opportunities to earn more
- Hours: Primarily weeknights (5:30–9:00 PM) and Saturdays (7:30 AM–4:00 PM)
- Perks: Eligible for college internship credit while earning hourly pay

We’re looking for instructors, teachers, and coaches who are passionate about helping others and want to make a positive impact in our community.
