With the generous support from the Laureus Foundation, Gatorade, and Bleacher Report during the 2022 NBA All-Star weekend, Near West Recreation would like to announce the creation of its new Champion’s Fund.

Near West Recreation has been serving the Near West Side of Cleveland since 2012.  Over the past ten years, Near West Recreation has provided youth with countless opportunities to participate in sport leagues, camps, and clinics.  To limit barriers of entry, families have always been given the opportunity to pay a registration fee that can afford.

On average, over 50% of youth participants request some form of financial assistance at an annual loss of $20,000 in registration fees.  With the creation of the Champion’s Fund, Near West Recreation will be able to continue to offer financial assistance to families in need while not having to lower the quality of programming offered.

To kickstart this initiative, Gatorade is proving Near West Recreation with $25,000 to support the Champion’s Fund. If you would like to contribute to the Champion’s Fund and support local youth, please consider giving a donation here. No donation is too small.
