Champion's Fund
Thanks to the generous support from the Laureus Foundation, Gatorade, and Bleacher Report during the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend, Near West Recreation is proud to announce the Champion’s Fund—a dedicated initiative to support families in need.
Since our founding, we have offered income-based registration fees to ensure that no child is turned away. On average, over 50% of our youth participants request financial assistance, resulting in an annual funding gap of $30,000. The Champion’s Fund allows us to continue providing financial aid without compromising the quality of our programs.
To kickstart this initiative, Gatorade has contributed $25,000 to support local youth athletes.

Our most popular sponsorship opportunity! Perfect for small businesses and organizations looking to give back.
Sponsorship Levels:
- Team Sponsor – $500 (sponsor one team)
- Team Patron – $1,000 (sponsor three teams)
Your Benefits:
- Your business name featured as the team’s name
- Your logo on the front of team jerseys (or provide a custom logo)
- Logo on league marketing materials and social media pages
- Supports uniforms, equipment, and officiating fees, ensuring that every child has access to a great sports experience.
Sponsorship Deadlines
To sponsor a team in a specific league, please submit your sponsorship form by the following dates:
- January 1 – Basketball
- April 1 – Track, Baseball, Softball
- August 1 – Soccer
- October 1 – Volleyball

In-Kind Sponsorship/Donations
We gladly accept in-kind donations, which can be exchanged for Team Patron, Team Sponsor, or Casino Night sponsorships.
Examples of In-Kind Donations:
- Event Support – Food donations, venue space (gyms or indoor/outdoor venues)
- Casino Night – Auction items, gift baskets, giveaway items (gift cards, sports tickets,etc.)
- Equipment Donations – New or gently used sports gear, including:
- Baseball/softball gloves, baseballs, cleats
- Basketballs
- Soccer balls, soccer shin guards, cleats
- Volleyballs, volleyball knee pads
